These immigration physicals are a necessary part of the application process when applying for citizenship. The purpose of the physical is to evaluate the health of the applicant and identify the presence of hazardous conditions like tuberculosis, HIV, or syphilllis.Applicants will also need to be current on all vaccinations recommended by the U.S. public health official. Family Medicine does not determine if you are actually eligible for citizenship. That determination is made by the Immigration officer after reviewing all records, including the report of the physical examination.
