Sleep
Studies
We
see sleep as basic and essential to good health. One of the more
common complaints we see is fatigue. A close look at the many
benefits of sleep directs us toward approaches that not only improve
the quality of life, but longevity itself.
In
a study over a 12 year period that looked at people with several
sleep apnea, there was a greater than 30% risk for non-fatal heart
attack or stroke. Not only does sleep apnea dramatically increase
the risk of heart attack and stroke, it is also linked to hypertension
and weight gain.
Quality
of sleep is directly linked to the overall quality of life. Sleep
studies are one method of closely looking at what is causing sleep
related problems and can direct us toward an effective treatment.
